Job Summary

Iowa Fluid Power and Electro-Hydraulic Automation, Inc. a leading manufacturer of custom fluid power and motion control solutions, located on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids, has immediate need for industrial technicians.Build and or assemble custom machinery including extruded aluminum frameworks, hydraulic power units and various types of control circuits, such as electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic along with their sub-assemblies by following schematics, blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties may include fabrication of hydraulic equipment, plumbing, welding and wiring of hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as off-site customer service and repair of same systems.Plans assembly procedures, following specifications and using his/her own discretion.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicant must have a minimum of two years experience with industrial equipment. Ideal candidates will have strong technical and mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn hands-on knowledge of system components. Outstanding communication skills and trouble-shooting ability needed. TIG welding, metal fabrication, and painting skills also a plus.Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs (as required by physical) and be able to kneel, bend, squat or stand for extended periods of time.

EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent; 2 yr vocational degree preferred

EXPERIENCETwo years in industrial environment preferred

Has a working knowledge of the different types of fluid conductors

Has general knowledge of torching and welding

Possesses working knowledge of hand and general shop tools

Must be able to kneel, bend, squat or stand for extended periods of time

Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs (as required by physical)

Requires occasional travel to customer sites for installation or service

Industrial Painter

 

This person is responsible for performing a full range of specialized coating projects by operating and maintaining paint spraying equipment.

Responsibilities, Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • Identify and obtain pertinent information from shop order and shop drawings regarding painting requirements
  • Set-up and operate spray paint systems and pressure-pot spray systems to apply prime coat paint and top coat paints; Work with solvents, cleaners, paints and coatings
  • Move components by operating an overhead crane, using safe work habits
  • Assists in prepping components, sanding and reworking paint
  • Verifies specifications by conducting a self-inspection
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following operating procedures
  • Resolves paint problems by adjusting processes to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
  • Document actions by completing production, quality and time forms
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Wear proper personal protective equipment
  • Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions

Design Engineer

 

Iowa Fluid Power, a Cedar Rapids distributor, manufacturer, and system integrator of Fluid Power and Motion Controls systems and components seeks a Hydraulic Circuit and Manifold Design Engineer.Duties will include design, estimating and assembly inspection of custom hydraulic manifolds. Applicant should have prior hydraulic circuit and manifold design or related hydraulic system experience. Requires experience with MS Excel, MS Word, 2D CAD and exceptional communication skills. Responsibilities include handling incoming customer calls for quotes, order entry, delivery information, trouble-shooting and application questions

Qualified applicant need excellent project management and organizational skills. Travel requirements could be up to 15%.

Controls Engineer

Duties will include design, estimating, programming, supervising construction, and on-site startup of hydraulic systems and electrical panelsApplicant should have prior PLC or programming, industrial controls, motion control or related experience.  Requires experience programming Codesys, Allen Bradley (RS Logics), Siemens, C, Labview or others. Computer science background and robot programming also a plus. Previous hydraulic experience not required.
